My Favorite Part of Being a Realtor Has Nothing to Do With Selling Houses
If you asked most people what a Realtor does, they’d probably say we show homes, negotiate contracts, and spend way too much time on paperwork.
And while that’s definitely true, my favorite part of this job has always been something completely different.
It’s the conversations that happen after we’ve finished talking about bedrooms, budgets, and interest rates.
“Where should we celebrate if our offer gets accepted?”
“What’s your favorite date night spot?”
“Where would you take friends visiting Philadelphia for the first time?”
“What’s a restaurant that’s actually worth the hype?”
Those are my favorite questions.
As a Realtor, I don’t just get to know homes—I get to know neighborhoods. Every showing, coffee meeting, and open house introduces me to another corner of the city. Over time, I’ve realized that helping people find a place to live is only part of the experience. Helping them enjoy living here is just as important.
That’s really where Morgan’s Little Black Book came from.
It wasn’t created because Philadelphia needed another list of restaurants. It was created because I found myself answering the same questions over and over again. Instead of texting recommendations one at a time, I wanted to create something people could come back to whenever they were planning a date night, celebrating with friends, or simply looking for an excuse to explore the city.
One of the things I love most about Philadelphia is that it’s always changing. A new restaurant opens. A neighborhood gets a little busier. A hotel launches a rooftop. An old favorite quietly becomes your new go-to.
There is always something new to discover.
Whether you’re buying your first home, moving to a new neighborhood, or you’ve lived here your entire life, I think that’s one of the best parts about this city. You never really run out of places to explore.
So while I’ll always be passionate about real estate, I hope you’ll continue following along for everything in between, too.
Because sometimes the best part of finding a home… is discovering everything around it.
Until next Sunday,
Morgan
