August Already?
If you asked me where this year went, I genuinely couldn’t tell you.
Somehow we’re in August, my birthday is just a few weeks away (August 22nd, if anyone’s asking 😉), and I’m officially entering what I like to call my “reset month.”
Birthdays have always made me reflective. Not in a dramatic way, but in a “what’s working, what’s not, and where do I want to be next year?” kind of way.
This year feels different.
Lately I’ve been saying yes to more dinners, more walks around the city, more spontaneous plans, and honestly… just living a little more. I realized somewhere along the way that I can’t exactly be Morgan & the City if I’m spending all my time inside my house.
So August is about getting back outside.
My August Challenge
One of my mentors challenged me to host 30 open houses in 30 days.
Thirty.
It’s ambitious, slightly insane, and probably means you’ll see me surviving on coffee and protein bars for the next month.
But here’s why I said yes.
Real estate is one of those careers where no one hands you opportunities. You create them. Every open house is another chance to meet someone looking for their next home, connect with neighbors, and grow my business one conversation at a time.
Will every open house lead to a sale?
Probably not.
Will every open house make me a better agent?
Absolutely.
Sometimes the goal isn’t immediate results. It’s becoming the kind of person who shows up consistently enough that success eventually has no choice but to find you.
August Intentions
Instead of making a list of things I hope happen this month, I’m making a list of things I’ll commit to doing.
Showing up.
Creating more than I consume.
Saying yes to new experiences.
Supporting local businesses.
Spending less time waiting for life to happen and more time participating in it.
The city has a funny way of rewarding people who get out and explore.
So whether you’re trying a new restaurant, apartment hunting, grabbing cocktails with friends, or simply walking through a neighborhood you’ve never been to before…
I hope August feels like a fresh start.
And if you happen to see me sitting at an open house somewhere in Philadelphia, stop in and say hi.
There’s a good chance I’ll have snacks.
Until Next Sunday,
Morgan
