April Showers?.. But it’s August

I don’t know about you, but Philadelphia’s weather has been making it very easy to stay inside lately.

Between the rain, the humidity, and those ridiculously hot days, getting dressed and leaving the house has felt like an activity in itself. I’ve still been doing my best to get out, explore the city, work, see friends, and actually enjoy summer — but I’d be lying if I said the weather hasn’t made finding the motivation a little harder.

And maybe that’s okay.

I’m giving myself a little grace for the rest of August. My birthday is coming up, summer is winding down, and right now I’m much more interested in enjoying these last few weeks than pretending I’m operating at peak productivity every single day.

But once the birthday festivities are over? We’re getting back on schedule.

Fall has always felt like a natural reset to me. There’s something about cooler mornings, earlier evenings, and that first hint of crisp air that makes you want to reorganize your life. So after my birthday, I’m getting back into a strict regimen — workouts, work, content, eating better, getting outside, and sticking to my routine regardless of whether Philadelphia decides to give us sunshine, rain, or all four seasons before dinner.

Because as much as I love summer, I’m realizing that motivation can’t always depend on perfect conditions.

Sometimes you have to create your own momentum.

So for now, I’m enjoying August for what it is: a little unpredictable, a little slower, occasionally way too hot, but still summer in the city. I’ll take the good days when Philly gives them to me, make the most of the rainy ones, and start preparing for the reset that comes with a new season.

Until Next Sunday,

Morgan
